Introduction

Well, I used to be disturbed with the thought that my lipstick could shade off on my foods and leave me with that patchy, unappealing look of the remaining lipstick. I also imagined drinking a lot of lipsticks fluids in my drinks. Luckily for me, my fears were put to rest by the Revlon lipstick.  Lipsense is common in the family. My sister loves it more.

Revlon colorstay overtime review

Gives you a fine finish that requires no attention again until the end of the day.

Lasting power

Revlon lipstick lasts you a whole day without coming off your lips or flaking. For beginners, you are guaranteed 16 hours of brightly intense color on your lips.

End product

To get the lovely appeal that comes with Revlon, ensure to apply two thin layers of its fluid before wrapping it up with a gloss fluid or lip balm. Normally, you are supposed to prep and exfoliate your skin before its application. For every layer you apply, give it time to dry before applying the next. Make sure to apply a gloss layer on top of the lipstick.

Moisturizer

The coat of gloss sets in the lip color and helps keep your lips moisturized to leave on you a shiny look. While gloss is not a necessity for every lip product, you are better of using it than not using it at all with Revlon. Its absence could make your lips to turn dry and crack.

Pros

  • Moisturizes your lips
  • Long lasting
  • Food-proof
  • Non-transferable

Cons

  • Waiting for the layers to dry
  • Thick coat sticks to your teeth

Lipsense Review

It’s long lasting, multi-layered and comes with several shade options.

Lasting power

Lipsense keeps you glowing with intense color coverage of up to 8 hours. However, you can maintain this color for 16 hours with a top gloss layer for every 4 -5 hours. Its colors are true to shade and leave your lips with a sparkling look.

End product

Lipsense is multi-layered which makes it have a long process applying it on the lips. To achieve the desired finish, you need to apply it up to three layers while keeping every layer of application dry before moving on to the next. Apply a top gloss layer on the lip color of choice to ensure the color lasts for long.

Non-transferable

This product is free from the effect of kisses, smudge or your lips coming into contact with food and drinks. However, avoid oily foods as they have the potential of erasing the intensity of your lip color.

Pros

  • 70 color shades
  • Long lasting
  • Non-transferable
  • Alcohol content that exfoliates your lips

Cons

  • Multi-layer makes you feel heavy
  • Re-glossing throughout the day
  • Burning effect

My verdict

Revlon colorstay works well for you if you are busy and have no time to reapply your lipstick. With good lip preparation and application, you are done for the day. Lipsense keeps you attentive to it just in case it starts getting patchy and needs a layer of gloss. Revlon colorstay works for me.
